About the event
Join GHCC and a growing group of amateur entomologists as we return to the blooming meadows around Buckhorn Overlook. This is one of our annual favorite outings!
Make the drive or jump in a car with friends to a vehicle camping location near the scenic Buckhorn overlook. We'll (hopefully) catch some bees in nets, carefully put them to sleep on ice, then photograph and record data for the Xerxes Society about these important native pollinators. We also take care to learn about botany and the importance of meadow diversity.
In the evening we gather around the camp stove for stories and food. It's a great time!
