Join us on Giving Tuesday 2023 to support the blue mountains trail!

This Giving Tuesday, we are thrilled to share that a generous donor has pledged to MATCH $5,000 towards our Blue Mountains Trail efforts in 2024. We could not be more thrilled with the momentum we experienced on the trail this year – 5 more individuals hiked the full 530 mile route with countless others hiking segments and making plans for the upcoming season.

We also received hundreds of survey responses with feedback on the trail from local residents and held six community workshops across the state (to the tune of standing room only!)

In 2024, we are excited to be tackling new and exciting projects, including restoring miles of trail and a bridge in the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness, replacing signage, supporting trail maintenance, and developing shorter trail itineraries and marketing materials. This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Blue Mountains Trail. Your donation goes directly to support our efforts to improve the trail and expand outreach across the region. Thanks to a generous donor, all funds donated between now and December 5th will be MATCHED.

Double your impact and donate to support the Blue Mountains Trail this year!

If you donate at least $50 through December 5*, you will also receive a copy of GHCC's 2024 Calendar.

Our 2024 calendar celebrates the grandeur of a wild, intact and connected Greater Hells Canyon Region. It features 12 stunning pieces from "Refugia of the Blue Mountains" exhibit – many of these scenes can be found along the Blue Mountains Trail.

* Donors who become a River Runner with a $10+/month recurring donation will also receive a copy of GHCC's 2024 Calendar.

TRAIL MAINTENANCE

We have a busy year ahead of us in 2024 and we're excited to be tackling the following projects:

  • Restoring miles of trail and a bridge in the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness with the Blue Mountains Land Trust

  • Replacing signs burned in 2022 fires on the Wallowa-Whitman, and the possibility of formally adopting trail segments in the Malheur National Forest

  • Continuing to support much needed trail maintenance in all sections through volunteer deployment and collaboration with partner organizations
